Out of the Dark is a horror/suspense film from 1989. It stars Cameron Dye, Karen Black, Paul Bartel, and Divine. I actually liked it! Some people I know did not, but it is right up my alley! I gave this film 2 GOLDEN CUCUMBERS! Attachments:

I might get this for Christmas. One of the last sort-of-big slashers from the 80s that I need to see.

I've never heard of it before but I'm listening to your review now and I loved Cameron Dye in Valley Girl (I can't imagine why all those chicks on the beach were drooling over Nic Cage- Cameron was hot).
Watching the trailer, I'm loving the thriller vibe. No real horror, though. More like one of those cheesy Hollywood Model Massacre type movies that they had all over the place in the 80's (oh, and the 70's: Eyes of Laura Mars). And which they had a million different names for.

I thought that scene where the girl goes off by herself at night and runs into that clown dancing around right before he bashes her over the head was pretty damn creepy! really cool 80's horror! Warner Archive should have done a remastered edition for it.

Warner doesn't own it. Sony does.

Didn't Warner buy it from Sony? I know they bought Killer Party from MGM because I called MGM about it.
